When is a fixer upper house worth buying — and when isn’t it?

For many a fixer upper might be a great purchase! The notion of buying a fixer-upper can be irresistible, especially if you love to restore houses. Just think: You can purchase a rundown place in a good neighborhood for way below market price, invest some time and money to renovate it, and end up with a beautiful house that’s perfect for renting. Sounds like a dream, right?

Well most times it is! However, some fixer-uppers that require major restoration might not be approved by lenders.

So what should you do if you’re unsure as to whether or not you can get a mortgage for a fixer upper? You can send the listing to me. I will know straight off the bat if you will be able to get financing.
